I have been with The Laurel Tree Academy since February 2001. I can honestly say that the past 20 years at Laurel Tree have gone by in an instant. I continue to be excited for each day’s possibilities and amazed by the children and their ability to adapt, grow and share their joy. I love that my role allows me to be creative and actively engaged and that every day is different.
2020 and the COVID Pandemic has created many challenges but also many opportunities. We spent several months “zooming” from home and were thrilled to see so many happy faces with us every day. We have learned to adapt to our new normal and continue to have fun, exciting activities whether virtual or in person. The bonds and connection we establish both in and outside of the center are what truly make Laurel Tree a family and I am so lucky to be a member.
I believe that children should be challenged as well as loved and nurtured. My goal is to provide fun, new learning opportunities in the most enriching environment possible. I continually seek to develop new initiatives at Laurel Tree such as, a quality play-based curriculum, an active, traveling, summer camp program and a natural playground that is truly a dream come true.
My family has also been an active part of Laurel Tree. My son, a Navy Officer veteran, worked many summers as a camp counselor. My daughter, who attended from toddler to preschool, is now a Group Teacher and leads our older Twos’ class. She will soon complete her Bachelor’s Degree and will continue on for a Master’s in Occupational Therapy, a goal that was inspired by her career at Laurel Tree.
My husband, daughter and I live in Marlton, with our two very large Labrador Retrievers. We often spend many weekends sprucing up the center grounds or looking for ways to add something special (like the mud kitchen) to our center.
